AI answer readiness checker (GEO)

AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Google's AI Overviews build their answers from pages they can find, understand and trust. This test reads your page and checks the signals that make that easier: a clearly defined brand entity, one consistent name, question-and-answer content, scannable sections, trust pages, named authors and recent update dates. It complements the AI crawler test, which checks whether those assistants can reach your site at all.

How it works

  1. Our test server in Virginia, USA, fetches the URL you enter as WebPSQCBot/3.0 and reads the HTML as delivered, without running JavaScript.
  2. Structured data comes from the JSON-LD blocks on the page, including @graph and nested nodes; headings, lists, tables and links come from the HTML.
  3. Trust pages are matched in English and Korean, by URL paths such as /about, /contact, /privacy and /terms or by their link text.
  4. Only this one page is analyzed, so test your home page and your key landing pages separately.
  5. Requests go only to public IP addresses on ports 80 and 443, and the check usually takes about 6 seconds.

How it is scored

The score uses our item-weighted formula: a pass earns full credit, a warning half and a fail none. The brand entity and question-and-answer content count 3×; the consistent name, structure and trust pages 2×; freshness and authorship 1×. A missing author is noted but not scored, because many home pages and product pages do not need one.

FAQ

What is GEO (generative engine optimization)?
GEO is the practice of making your content easy for AI assistants and AI search features to find, understand and cite. It builds on SEO basics such as crawlable, well-structured pages, and adds clear entity information, direct answers to common questions and visible signs of trust and freshness. This test checks those on-page signals; the AI crawler test checks access.
Does FAQ content help with AI answers?
Pages that pair a real question with a short, direct answer are easy for assistants to match to what users ask and to quote. Nothing guarantees an assistant will use them, but question-style headings with 2–3 sentence answers also help readers and search snippets. Write the questions your customers actually ask, not keyword lists.
Does schema markup help AI assistants?
Structured data states facts in an unambiguous, machine-readable form: who you are, your logo, your official profiles, your products. Search engines use it to understand entities, and AI features built on search can benefit from that. AI companies have not published how much their assistants rely on it, so treat it as one clear signal among several.
Why do trust pages matter for AI visibility?
About, Contact, Privacy and Terms pages show who is behind a site and how to reach them. Google's quality rater guidelines treat this kind of transparency as part of trust (E-E-A-T), and it helps AI assistants and visitors alike confirm who they are dealing with. Link these pages from your footer so every page carries them.
How often should I update content for AI search?
Update pages when the facts change, not on a fixed schedule, and show the date: a visible "Updated on" line, dateModified in your structured data and accurate sitemap lastmod values. This test passes an update date within the last 6 months, or dates marked up with the HTML time element. Changing dates without changing content does not make a page fresher.
